David’s career in entertainment began in 2003 when he wrote, produced and directed PUSH, his first feature, a true insiders look into the South Florida world of fast money and drug dealing. Rodriguez went on to write, direct and produce two additional acclaimed and award-winning films AMERICAN BULLY and ONCE UPON A TIME IN QUEENS. In 2010, David formed his own production company, Cine Relevante, with the mandate of continuing to develop feature and television content. David began directing television in 2014 with his work on many dramatic series such as CHICAGO P.D., GAME OF SILENCE, and THE RESIDENT.
Today, David splits his time between Austin and Los Angeles. He is a member of the Director’s Guild of America and previously served as an alternate on the Western Director’s Council and as co-chair of the DGA Latino Steering Committee.
